About This Item
The Pentair Valve Top Assembly (272568Z) is the OEM replacement top assembly for the 2-inch, 6-position top mount clamp-on multiport valves used on Pentair Tagelus TA series filter systems. Note: screws are not included with this assembly.
IMPORTANT: SCREWS NOT INCLUDED
This valve top assembly does not include mounting screws. Reuse your existing screws if they are in serviceable condition, or source the correct screws separately before beginning your service. Confirm the complete hardware requirement against your valve's parts diagram before ordering.
The valve top assembly governs directional flow control across all six operating positions of your multiport valve — Filter, Backwash, Rinse, Recirculate, Closed, and Waste. When the handle becomes stiff or difficult to rotate between positions, the clamp mechanism degrades, or the internal spring tension is lost, replacing the top assembly restores full directional control to your filter system.

Poolaroo Pro Tip
If your valve rotor or rotor seal also shows wear — sticky rotation, water bypassing positions, or visible scoring on the rotor face — replace the rotor assembly at the same service visit. Replacing just the top assembly while leaving a worn rotor in place often results in a repeat repair within one season. Pull the rotor before reassembly and inspect the sealing surfaces while you have the valve open.
