IMPORTANT: VERSION QUALIFIER — TRITON II TR100
On the Triton II TR100, this lateral fits filters manufactured after May 1985. Verify your filter's manufacture date before ordering if you are unsure of the production run.
Laterals are the slotted fingers mounted to the standpipe hub at the base of the filter tank. They allow filtered water to pass through to the return line while retaining sand inside the tank. A cracked or broken lateral allows fine sand to bypass into the return line and reenter the pool — the most common sign that a lateral needs replacing. Inspect all laterals whenever the filter is opened for sand replacement.

When inspecting laterals, run your fingers along the full length of each one — hairline cracks near the hub connection are easy to miss visually but will allow sand to pass into the return line. If one lateral is cracked, the others have typically experienced the same service life and stress; replacing all laterals at the same time is the most cost-effective approach. Always confirm the 9-1/8" length against your existing lateral before ordering — Pentair TR- and TA-series filters use laterals of different lengths depending on the model, and an incorrect length will not seat properly in the hub assembly.
