About This Item
The Pentair Air Relief Tube (150042) is the OEM replacement air relief tube for the TR140 and TR140C Sand Filter — designed specifically for filters manufactured after November 1, 1999.
IMPORTANT: VERIFY YOUR FILTER'S MANUFACTURE DATE BEFORE ORDERING
This part is compatible with TR140 and TR140C filters manufactured after 11-1-1999 only. Check the manufacture date stamped on your existing filter housing before placing your order.
The air relief tube is a key component of the filter's manual air relief assembly, allowing trapped air to be purged from the filter tank during startup and operation. When this tube is cracked, damaged, or missing, the air relief valve cannot function correctly — which can prevent proper pressurization and interrupt water flow.

Poolaroo Pro Tip
When replacing the air relief tube, inspect the entire air relief valve assembly — including the valve seat and any associated O-rings — for wear or cracking at the same time. Replacing worn surrounding components in the same service visit prevents a return trip if adjacent parts fail shortly after.
