Always lubricate this O-ring with a silicone-based lubricant before installation. We carry the Pentair R172351 Lifeguard Silicone Lubricant — the OEM-matched product for Pentair equipment.
This O-ring provides the sealing surface for small meter assemblies. A worn or damaged O-ring in this position will result in leaks at the meter joint. Replacing it with the correct OEM part restores a proper seal.

Before installing this O-ring, clean the seating groove thoroughly to remove any debris or remnants of the old O-ring. Apply a thin coat of Pentair R172351 Lifeguard Silicone Lubricant to the O-ring before seating it — this prevents pinching during assembly and extends seal life. Never use petroleum-based lubricants, which will cause the O-ring to swell and degrade.
