The Pentair Shaft Seal, EPDM Black (17351-0101S) is the OEM replacement shaft seal for the WhisperFloXF, IntelliPro, Max-E-Pro XF, SuperFlo VS/VST, SuperMax VS, and Dyna-Pro series inground pool pumps.
IMPORTANT: MANUFACTURING DATE DETERMINES FITMENT
This shaft seal fits IntelliPro pumps manufactured from 7/15/14 to present, and SuperFlo VS/VST and SuperMax VS pumps manufactured after 06/17/19. For these models, confirm your pump's manufacturing date on the motor label before ordering.
The shaft seal prevents water from migrating along the pump shaft into the motor cavity. When this seal wears or fails, water reaches the motor bearings, accelerating motor failure. Replacing a leaking shaft seal at first sign of moisture around the pump body protects the motor and restores pump integrity.

Pro Tip
When replacing the shaft seal, inspect the pump shaft for scoring or corrosion at the seal contact surface before installing the new seal. A grooved or pitted shaft will accelerate wear on the replacement seal. Also replace the shaft seal whenever the motor is removed for service — reinstalling an old seal against a freshly seated motor is a common cause of premature re-failure. EPDM compound is compatible with standard pool water chemistry; confirm you are ordering the correct seal material for your pump model as Pentair offers multiple seal compounds across its pump range.
