The Pentair TR140 Sand Filter Lateral (154540Z) is the OEM replacement lateral for the TR140C sand filter system.
Sand filter laterals form the spoke-like distribution assembly at the base of the filter tank. Each lateral is slotted to allow filtered water to pass through while retaining filter sand within the tank. A cracked or broken lateral allows sand to bypass the filtration media and enter the pool return lines — the most common cause of sand appearing in the pool. Replacing a damaged lateral with this exact OEM part restores the integrity of the lateral assembly and prevents media loss.
