This Buna-N O-ring seals the diverter shaft inside 2-way, 3-way, and backwash valve assemblies. When the O-ring wears or takes a set, water migrates past the shaft and escapes at the valve body — often appearing as a slow drip or weep at the handle area during pump operation. Replacing this O-ring restores the shaft seal and stops the leak. Match the part number stamped on your original O-ring or cross-reference your valve's assembly diagram before ordering.
