The Pentair Large Cartridge (25022-0201S) is the OEM replacement filter element for the System 3 modular media filter, model S7M120. This is the 21 in. cartridge sized specifically for this tank.
This cartridge is the primary filtration media inside the S7M120 tank, trapping dirt and debris as water passes through the pleated element. The System 3 modular media design lets you replace the cartridge directly without removing or replacing the tank itself.
This is the larger, outer cartridge for the S7M120. For the matching smaller, inner cartridge, see part number 25021-0200S. Replace both to complete your filter service.

Rinse the cartridge thoroughly with a garden hose between cleanings to clear trapped debris from the pleats — avoid pressure washers, which can tear the media and permanently reduce filtration surface area. If clean-filter pressure isn't restored after a full cleaning, it's time to replace the cartridge.
