IMPORTANT: MODEL YEAR QUALIFICATION — i1 AND i2 PUMPS
For IntelliFlo i1 and i2 models, this drive kit applies to units manufactured after April 2016. If your pump was built before April 2016, verify the correct drive kit part number in your pump's service manual or on the original part before ordering.
The drive kit is the electronic variable speed control assembly that governs motor speed across the RPM range of your IntelliFlo pump. A failed or damaged drive results in loss of speed control, fault codes, or complete pump shutdown. Replacing the drive kit with this OEM assembly restores factory variable speed operation and maintains compatibility with Pentair automation systems including IntelliTouch and EasyTouch.

The drive is the most electronically sensitive component in an IntelliFlo pump. Before ordering, confirm the failure is isolated to the drive and not to the motor or control board — a qualified pool technician can run Pentair's onboard diagnostics to confirm the fault code points specifically to the drive assembly. Also note that 356879Z is the VS (Variable Speed) drive kit only — it does not apply to SVRS (Safety Vacuum Release System) variants. Cross-reference your pump's model label and serial number against the April 2016 manufacture date cutoff if you own an i1 or i2 model.
