A torn, warped, or degraded grid within this assembly allows D.E. powder and fine debris to bypass filtration and return to the pool. Because the individual grids are joined into one complete assembly in this design, the entire unit is replaced together when any section fails.

Since D.E. filtration depends on a fresh media charge, recharge the filter with new D.E. powder once this assembly is in place to restore full filtration efficiency.
