This listing is a kit, not a single seal plate. It includes the seal plate and associated components (Part Nos. 6 and 7 from the Max-E-Pro pump assembly diagram, see below). Confirm you need the complete kit before ordering individual components separately.
The seal plate forms the critical interface between the pump's wet end and the motor assembly, housing the shaft seal and providing the mounting surface that keeps water isolated from the motor. When the seal plate or its associated seal components wear or crack, water can migrate toward the motor bearing assembly, leading to premature motor failure. Replacing the seal plate kit at the first sign of leakage behind the pump volute protects the motor and restores pump integrity.
