The Pentair Bolt, Hex Head 3/8-16 x 1.25" (070430Z) is the OEM replacement hex head bolt used to secure the seal plate on WhisperFlo and IntelliFlo series pumps. This is for one bolt, each.

Fitment on IntelliFlo i1 and i2 pumps is confirmed for units manufactured after April 2016. Fitment on IntelliPro VS+SVRS and IntelliFlo VS+SVRS pumps is confirmed for units manufactured after June 2016. Verify your pump's manufacture date before ordering if you have one of these models.
These hex head cap bolts fasten the seal plate to the pump volute, maintaining the clamping force that keeps the wet end assembly sealed under operating pressure. Corrosion of the original bolts — common in environments with high chemical exposure or salt water — can cause bolt seizure, stripped threads, or loss of clamping torque, leading to seal plate movement and potential leaks. Replacing all four bolts as a set during any seal plate or shaft seal service restores the correct clamping load and prevents future removal problems.

Any time you're servicing the seal plate — whether replacing a shaft seal, O-ring, or impeller — replace all four of these bolts as a set. Stainless steel bolts in pool environments are susceptible to galling and thread corrosion over time, and a bolt that seizes mid-removal can turn a straightforward service job into a much larger repair. The cost of a fresh set of four is negligible compared to the risk of a broken fastener in the volute. Confirm the part number 070430Z is stamped or listed in your pump's parts diagram before ordering, particularly for WhisperFlo models where fitment confidence is slightly lower.
