The Pentair 14971-SM10E12 is the OEM replacement spider gasket for the Sta-Rite 1-1/2 in. Multiport Side Mount Valve. This is a single gasket (sold individually) — confirm your valve's port size is 1-1/2 in. before ordering.
The spider gasket seals the internal rotor channels of the multiport valve, directing water flow to the correct port position — filter, backwash, rinse, waste, recirculate, or closed. When the spider gasket deteriorates or tears, water bypasses the intended port, resulting in loss of backwash effectiveness, water returning to the pool during waste mode, or flow leaking across positions. Replacing this gasket restores full directional control and proper valve sealing.
