The Pentair Spring (14971-SM10E9) is the OEM replacement spring for Sta-Rite Multiport Side Mount Valves in 1-1/2" and 2" configurations.
The spring maintains consistent pressure on the valve rotor assembly, keeping the diverter seated firmly against the valve body during operation. A fatigued or broken spring allows the rotor to shift under system pressure, resulting in position bleed-through — where flow bypasses the selected port and enters an unintended line. Replacing this spring restores positive rotor engagement and reliable port isolation across all six valve positions.
