This connector (150036Z) is designed for use on Pentair sand filters manufactured after November 1, 1999. If your filter was manufactured before this date, verify the correct part number against your equipment's manual or the original part before ordering.
The air relief tube connector joins the manual air relief valve to the bleed tube at the top of the filter tank. When the filter is first started up or after backwashing, trapped air inside the tank is vented through this assembly. A cracked or deteriorated connector allows air to escape at the joint rather than through the valve, preventing proper pressure relief and causing erratic pressure gauge readings. Replacing this connector restores a sealed, controlled air bleed path.
