About This Item
The Pentair Air Relief Tube (Part #154438) is the OEM replacement 27-inch air relief tube for the Triton II TR140 and Triton C-3 TR140C sand filters — specifically for units manufactured before November 1999.
⚠️ IMPORTANT: DATE-OF-MANUFACTURE RESTRICTION
This tube is designed for Triton II TR140, TR140C, and TR140C-3 sand filters manufactured before November 1999 only. Filters produced on or after November 1999 require a different part. Check the date code on your filter tank before ordering.
The air relief tube channels trapped air from inside the filter tank to the manual air relief valve at the top of the filter head, allowing air to be safely purged from the system before pressure builds. A cracked, kinked, or missing tube prevents proper air release, which can result in inaccurate pressure gauge readings and reduced filter performance.

Pro Tip
Before ordering, locate the date code stamped on your Triton filter tank — typically found on the tank label or molded into the shell near the base. If your filter was manufactured on or after November 1, 1999, this tube will not be the correct replacement. When inspecting the existing tube, check the full length for hairline cracks or kinks near the connection points, as these are the most common failure sites on aged plastic air relief tubes.
