About This Item
The Pentair 154492Z is the OEM replacement 2-inch bulkhead O-ring for Pentair TR Series sand filters, sealing the bulkhead fitting to prevent leaks at the tank wall connection point.
⚠️ IMPORTANT: LUBRICATION REQUIRED — SOLD SEPARATELY
Always lubricate this O-ring with a silicone-based lubricant before installation. We carry the Pentair R172351 Lifeguard® Silicone Lubricant — the OEM-matched product for Pentair equipment.
This O-ring seats at the 2-inch bulkhead fitting on the filter tank, creating a watertight seal between the fitting and the tank wall. When the O-ring degrades or is displaced, water will weep or stream from the bulkhead connection under operating pressure. Replacing this O-ring restores the seal without requiring replacement of the fitting or tank body. Match the part number 154492Z to your existing O-ring before ordering.

Pro Tip
Before installation, apply a thin coat of Pentair R172351 Lifeguard® Silicone Lubricant to the O-ring. This helps seat it evenly in the groove, prevents tearing during assembly, and extends service life. Never use petroleum-based lubricants — they will degrade rubber O-rings and accelerate failure at the seal point.
