About This Item

The Pentair O-Ring (16920-0012) is the OEM replacement lid seal for the 6-inch PKG 181 Plastic Suction Trap Assembly.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: LUBRICATION REQUIRED — SOLD SEPARATELY
Always lubricate this O-ring with a silicone-based lubricant before installation. We carry the Pentair R172351 Lifeguard® Silicone Lubricant — the OEM-matched product for Pentair equipment.

This O-ring seats between the suction trap lid and the trap body, maintaining a watertight seal under suction. When the O-ring deteriorates or becomes deformed, the lid seal fails — allowing air to enter the suction line, reducing pump prime, and potentially causing the pump to lose flow. Replacing this O-ring at the first sign of cracking, flattening, or weeping restores the seal and protects pump performance. Match the part number 16920-0012 to your existing O-ring before ordering.

Pro Tip

Before installation, apply a thin, even coat of Pentair R172351 Lifeguard® Silicone Lubricant to the O-ring. This helps the ring seat evenly in its groove, prevents tearing during lid assembly, and extends service life. Never use petroleum-based lubricants — they will degrade rubber O-rings and accelerate seal failure.
