OEM Drain Plug for the Pentair FNS24 D.E. Filter
The Pentair All Purpose Plug with O-Ring (195830) is the OEM replacement 2-inch drain plug for the FNS24 D.E. filter. If your existing plug is cracked, stripped, or leaking at the tank port, this is the correct replacement.
⚠️ IMPORTANT: LUBRICATION REQUIRED — SOLD SEPARATELY
Always lubricate the included O-ring with a silicone-based lubricant before installation. We carry the Pentair R172351 Lifeguard® Silicone Lubricant — the OEM-matched product for Pentair equipment.
This plug seals the 2-inch port on the FNS24 filter tank, preventing water loss during normal operation and allowing the tank to be fully drained for service, backwash maintenance, or winterization. The included O-ring provides the compression seal at the port face. A damaged or missing O-ring at this fitting will result in a slow leak that is easy to overlook until water loss becomes significant. Match the part number stamped on your existing plug before ordering.

Pro Tip
When reinstalling this plug after filter service or winterization, hand-tighten only — over-torquing a plastic plug can crack the tank port threads. Before threading the plug in, apply a thin coat of Pentair R172351 Lifeguard® Silicone Lubricant to the O-ring to seat it evenly and prevent tearing during assembly. Never use petroleum-based lubricants — they will degrade the O-ring and cause the seal to fail prematurely.
