The union set connects the LeafVac canister to your pool's plumbing lines, allowing the canister to be removed for emptying and reinstalled without disturbing the pipe connections. The included O-ring maintains a watertight seal at the union joint. Replacing a cracked or leaking union — or a compressed, deformed O-ring — restores a secure, drip-free connection and prevents air from entering the line.

Before installation, apply a thin coat of Pentair R172351 Lifeguard® Silicone Lubricant to the O-ring. This helps the O-ring seat evenly in the union groove, prevents tearing during assembly, and extends seal life. Never use petroleum-based lubricants — they will degrade rubber O-rings and cause premature failure.
