About This Item
The Pentair 270197Z is the OEM replacement O-ring for the FULLFLOXF Backwash Valve — the end cap O-ring that maintains a pressure-tight seal at the valve body.
⚠️ IMPORTANT: 2 REQUIRED PER VALVE
This listing is for one (1) O-ring. The FULLFLOXF Backwash Valve requires 2 of this O-ring for a complete service. Add 2 to your cart before ordering.
⚠️ IMPORTANT: LUBRICATION REQUIRED — SOLD SEPARATELY
Always lubricate this O-ring with a silicone-based lubricant before installation. We carry the Pentair R172351 Lifeguard® Silicone Lubricant — the OEM-matched product for Pentair equipment.
This Buna-N O-ring seats at the end cap of the FULLFLOXF Backwash Valve, forming the seal that prevents water from bypassing the valve body during backwash cycles. When this O-ring deteriorates or takes a set, the valve loses its seal — resulting in leakage at the end cap or reduced backwash effectiveness. Replacing it restores the valve to proper operating condition.

Pro Tip
Before installation, apply a thin coat of Pentair R172351 Lifeguard® Silicone Lubricant to the O-ring. This helps seat it evenly, prevents tearing during assembly, and extends service life. Never use petroleum-based lubricants — they will degrade Buna-N rubber and cause premature failure. Since 2 of this O-ring are required per valve, order both at the same time and replace them as a pair — mixing a new O-ring with a worn one leaves the valve one service interval away from another leak.
