About This Item
The Pentair O-Ring, Spacer (271073Z) is the OEM replacement sealing spacer for the FULLFLOXF® Diverter & Check Valve series, specifically the 2-1/2 In. and 3 In. Diverter Valve assemblies.
⚠️ IMPORTANT: LUBRICATION REQUIRED — SOLD SEPARATELY
Always lubricate this O-ring with a silicone-based lubricant before installation. We carry the Pentair R172351 Lifeguard® Silicone Lubricant — the OEM-matched product for Pentair equipment.
This spacer O-ring maintains the internal seal within the diverter valve body, preventing bypass and ensuring accurate flow direction between valve ports. A deteriorated or displaced spacer O-ring allows water to migrate past the diverter rotor, resulting in loss of directional control and potential cross-flow between circuits — a common failure point in solar heating systems that rely on precise valve operation.

Pro Tip
Before installation, apply a thin coat of Pentair R172351 Lifeguard® Silicone Lubricant to the O-ring. This helps seat it evenly, prevents tearing during assembly, and extends service life. Never use petroleum-based lubricants — they will degrade rubber O-rings and accelerate seal failure.
