The Pentair 271151Z is the OEM replacement 2" top valve O-ring for the HiFlow Top Mount and Side Mount Multiport Valve. If your multiport valve is weeping water from the top valve assembly or losing pressure at the valve head, this O-ring is the correct service part.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: LUBRICATION REQUIRED — SOLD SEPARATELY
Always lubricate this O-ring with a silicone-based lubricant before installation. We carry the Pentair R172351 Lifeguard® Silicone Lubricant — the OEM-matched product for Pentair equipment.

This O-ring seals the top valve assembly on the HiFlow Multiport Valve, preventing water from bypassing the valve head and maintaining proper system pressure. A deteriorated or pinched O-ring at this location will cause visible leaking around the valve top or a gradual loss of filter pressure — replacing it restores a watertight seal without requiring valve body replacement.

Before installation, apply a thin coat of Pentair R172351 Lifeguard® Silicone Lubricant to the O-ring. This helps seat it evenly in the groove, prevents tearing during reassembly, and extends service life. Never use petroleum-based lubricants — they will degrade the rubber and cause premature failure. While the valve is open for service, inspect the remaining O-rings in the valve assembly for cracking or flat-spotting and replace any that show wear.
