This spring is specified for HiFlow and TA Tagelus valves manufactured before May 1, 1992. Verify your valve's manufacture date before ordering — valves produced after this date use a different spring specification.
The compression spring seats the internal rotor or diverter assembly within the valve body, maintaining consistent pressure against the valve's sealing surfaces. When a spring loses tension or breaks, the valve rotor fails to seat correctly, resulting in port leakage, incomplete position engagement, or loss of backwash and filter-mode isolation. Replacing a fatigued spring restores proper sealing force and ensures the valve shifts cleanly between positions. Match the part number stamped or molded on your existing spring before ordering.
