About This Item
The Pentair 273090Z is the OEM replacement O-ring for the Pentair 2" PVC Slide Valve. Sold individually — two O-rings are required per valve.
IMPORTANT: QUANTITY — 2 REQUIRED PER VALVE
Each listing contains one O-ring. The 2" PVC Slide Valve requires two of these O-rings. Add two to your cart to complete a full valve service.
IMPORTANT: LUBRICATION REQUIRED — SOLD SEPARATELY
Always lubricate this O-ring with a silicone-based lubricant before installation. We carry the Pentair R172351 Lifeguard Silicone Lubricant — the OEM-matched product for Pentair equipment.
This O-ring forms the pressure seal around the sliding piston inside the valve body. When it wears, flattens, or takes a compression set, water migrates past the piston rather than routing cleanly through the selected port — causing flow to bleed into the wrong circuit or reducing filtration efficiency. Replacing this O-ring restores full sealing integrity to the valve.

Poolaroo Pro Tip
Before reinstalling the piston, apply a thin, even coat of Pentair R172351 Lifeguard Silicone Lubricant to both new O-rings. Never use petroleum-based lubricants — they degrade rubber O-ring compounds and will cause premature failure. While the valve is disassembled, run your finger along the piston bore and inspect the piston surface for scoring or grooves; a damaged piston surface will wear through a new O-ring quickly, so address any piston wear before reassembly.
