About This Item
The Pentair 273109 is the OEM replacement O-ring kit for the Pentair ABS Backwash Slide Valve, restoring a proper watertight seal across the valve's sealing surfaces.
⚠️ IMPORTANT: KIT LISTING — MULTIPLE O-RINGS INCLUDED
This listing is a kit containing multiple O-rings, not a single O-ring. All O-rings in the kit are intended to be replaced together during a full valve service.
⚠️ IMPORTANT: LUBRICATION REQUIRED — INCLUDED
Always lubricate these O-rings with a silicone-based lubricant before installation. This kit includes a small amount of silicone lubricant. If you are servicing more than these o-rings, we carry the Pentair R172351 Lifeguard® Silicone Lubricant — the OEM-matched product for Pentair equipment.
The O-rings in this kit seal the slide valve's internal bore and stem, preventing bypass leakage between the valve's inlet and outlet ports during backwash cycles. When these O-rings wear, crack, or deform, the valve loses its ability to fully redirect flow — resulting in incomplete backwashing, water bypass, or visible leakage at the valve body. Replacing the full kit restores proper valve operation. Match part number 273109 to the label or documentation for your ABS Backwash Slide Valve before ordering.

Pro Tip
When servicing the ABS Backwash Slide Valve, replace all O-rings in the kit at the same time — even if only one appears visibly worn. O-rings on the same valve age at the same rate, and replacing them together eliminates the need to re-open the valve for a second repair shortly after. Before seating each O-ring, apply a thin, even coat of Pentair R172351 Lifeguard® Silicone Lubricant to help each O-ring seat evenly, prevent tearing during assembly, and extend service life. Never use petroleum-based lubricants — they will degrade rubber O-rings and accelerate failure.
