The seal plate forms the wet-end-to-motor interface on IntelliFlo Variable Speed pumps, housing the mechanical shaft seal and providing the structural barrier between the pump's water-side components and the motor. Standard seal plates can degrade when exposed to ozone-enriched water or elevated salt concentrations from saltwater chlorination systems. The 350199 uses ozone- and salt-resistant materials throughout, making it the correct replacement when your system includes a salt chlorine generator or ozone sanitizer. A compromised seal plate allows water to migrate toward the motor, leading to shaft seal failure and motor damage.
