The Pentair Seal Plate O-Ring (351446Z) is the OEM replacement O-ring for the seal plate on Pentair's XF-frame inground and variable speed pump family, including the WhisperFlo XF, IntelliFlo XF, and MAX-E-PRO XF series.

Always lubricate this O-ring with a silicone-based lubricant before installation. We carry the Pentair R172351 Lifeguard® Silicone Lubricant — the OEM-matched product for Pentair equipment.
The seal plate O-ring forms a watertight compression seal between the pump's seal plate and volute housing. When this O-ring deteriorates or is disturbed during shaft seal service, the joint can no longer maintain pressure — allowing water to bypass internally, reducing pump efficiency, or causing visible leakage at the front of the pump body. Replacing this O-ring whenever the seal plate is removed is standard practice to ensure a reliable, leak-free reassembly.

Any time you open the pump to service the shaft seal, replace this seal plate O-ring at the same time — it's inexpensive insurance against a leak on reassembly. Before reinstalling, apply a thin, even coat of Pentair R172351 Lifeguard® Silicone Lubricant to the O-ring to help it seat evenly, prevent tearing during assembly, and extend service life. Never use petroleum-based products — they will degrade the rubber and cause premature failure.
