About This Item
The Pentair 354533Z is the OEM replacement lid O-ring for the Dynamo aboveground pool pump, sealing the strainer cover to prevent air ingestion and water loss at the pump housing.
⚠️ IMPORTANT: LUBRICATION REQUIRED — SOLD SEPARATELY
Always lubricate this O-ring with a silicone-based lubricant before installation. We carry the Pentair R172351 Lifeguard® Silicone Lubricant — the OEM-matched product for Pentair equipment.
The strainer cover O-ring forms an airtight seal between the pump lid and the strainer housing. When this O-ring degrades, cracks, or loses its profile, air is drawn into the pump volute, causing the pump to lose prime, run dry, or produce reduced flow. Replacing this O-ring restores the seal and protects pump performance. Match the part number 354533Z to the number molded on your existing O-ring before ordering.

Pro Tip
Before installation, apply a thin coat of Pentair R172351 Lifeguard® Silicone Lubricant to the O-ring. This helps seat it evenly, prevents tearing during assembly, and extends service life. Never use petroleum-based lubricants — they will degrade rubber O-rings. While the strainer cover is off, inspect the cover itself for hairline cracks around the threads, which can cause the same air-leak symptoms as a failed O-ring.
