The Pentair Seal Plate (355004Z) is the OEM replacement seal plate for the Challenger High Flow and Challenger High Pressure pump series. This is the black version, supplied as a single unit.

The seal plate forms the critical interface between the pump's wet end and the motor, housing the shaft seal assembly and maintaining the pressure boundary that keeps water separated from the motor's electrical components. A damaged or worn seal plate can compromise shaft seal seating, leading to water migration toward the motor bearing and premature motor failure. When replacing a shaft seal, inspect the seal plate mating surface — any scoring or warping warrants replacement of the plate at the same service interval.
