About This Item
The Pentair Seal Plate O-Ring (356173Z) is the OEM replacement seal plate O-ring for the IntelliFlo3 and IntelliPro3 VSF 3.0 HP variable speed and flow pool pumps.
⚠️ IMPORTANT: LUBRICATION REQUIRED — SOLD SEPARATELY
Always lubricate this O-ring with a silicone-based lubricant before installation. We carry the Pentair R172351 Lifeguard® Silicone Lubricant — the OEM-matched product for Pentair equipment.
The seal plate O-ring forms a watertight seal between the pump's seal plate and wet end housing. When this O-ring degrades, flattens, or cracks, water can bypass the seal and migrate toward the motor, leading to premature bearing failure and motor damage. Replacing this O-ring at the first sign of leakage — or as a matter of routine during any wet end service — protects the motor and restores a reliable pressure seal. This listing is for the 3.0 HP configuration only; confirm your pump's horsepower rating before ordering.

Pro Tip
Before installation, apply a thin coat of Pentair R172351 Lifeguard® Silicone Lubricant to the O-ring. This helps seat it evenly, prevents tearing during assembly, and extends service life. Never use petroleum-based lubricants — they will degrade rubber O-rings. While the pump wet end is open for this service, inspect the shaft seal as well; replacing both components together during the same service call avoids a repeat teardown.
