If your Challenger pump is plumbed into a salt chlorine generator or ozone system, this EPDM and stainless steel kit is the correct choice over a standard nitrile seal kit — nitrile degrades faster under sustained oxidizer exposure. Since a full seal service requires opening the wet end, this is also the most efficient time to inspect the impeller and diffuser for wear so you're not reopening the pump for a second issue shortly after.
