About This Item

The Pentair 356780Z is the OEM replacement seal plate O-ring for the EQ-Series Commercial Plastic Pump, covering configurations both with and without a hair and lint strainer.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: LUBRICATION REQUIRED — SOLD SEPARATELY
Always lubricate this O-ring with a silicone-based lubricant before installation. We carry the Pentair R172351 Lifeguard® Silicone Lubricant — the OEM-matched product for Pentair equipment.

This O-ring seals the interface between the seal plate and the pump housing on the EQ-Series. A compromised seal at this joint allows water to bypass the seal plate, which can lead to air ingestion, loss of prime, and accelerated wear on internal pump components. Replacing this O-ring at service intervals — or any time the seal plate is removed — restores the pressure-tight seal the pump requires to operate correctly.

Before installation, apply a thin, even coat of Pentair R172351 Lifeguard® Silicone Lubricant to the O-ring. This helps the ring seat evenly in its groove, reduces the risk of tearing during reassembly, and extends service life. Never use petroleum-based lubricants — they will degrade the rubber and cause premature failure. Match the part number on your existing O-ring to 356780Z before ordering to confirm you have the correct size for your EQ-Series configuration.
