The Pentair 39006000Z is the OEM replacement #2-449 Buna-N volute O-ring for the Pentair Ultra-Flow pump line. If your pump is weeping water at the volute joint or you're performing a routine seal service, this is the correct O-ring to restore a watertight fit.
IMPORTANT: LUBRICATION REQUIRED — SOLD SEPARATELY
Always lubricate this O-ring with a silicone-based lubricant before installation. We carry the Pentair R172351 Lifeguard Silicone Lubricant — the OEM-matched product for Pentair equipment.
The volute O-ring seals the joint between the pump's volute (wet end) and the motor bracket assembly. A degraded or compressed O-ring at this interface allows water to bypass the seal face and leak externally at the pump body. Replacing this O-ring at every pump service interval — or whenever the wet end is disassembled — is standard practice to prevent water intrusion and maintain pump efficiency.
