The Pentair Drier (473121Z) is the OEM replacement drier for the UltraTemp Heat Pump series and ThermalFlo HP Titanium Heat Pumps. This part fits all UltraTemp models except 120HC and 140HC — confirm your model number before ordering.

This is a refrigeration system component. Replacement involves handling refrigerant and working within a sealed refrigerant circuit. Service must be performed by a licensed HVAC or refrigeration technician holding an EPA Section 608 certification. Do not attempt to service this component without proper certification and equipment.

The drier (also called a filter-drier or receiver-drier) is a sealed component within the heat pump's refrigerant circuit. It removes moisture and contaminants from the refrigerant before it enters the expansion valve and evaporator, protecting compressor integrity and maintaining system efficiency. A failed or saturated drier can allow moisture into the circuit, leading to acid formation, compressor damage, and reduced heating output. Replacement is typically indicated during a refrigerant circuit service or when moisture contamination is diagnosed.

A drier that has been exposed to atmospheric moisture during an open-circuit service is considered spent, even if it has low hours. Confirm your model number against the exclusion list: this part does not fit the 120HC or 140HC models.
