This contactor fits all single-phase models manufactured prior to December 2014 only. Confirm your heat pump's manufacture date before ordering — units built from December 2014 onward require a different part number.
The heat pump contactor is an electromechanical switching component that controls power delivery to the heat pump's compressor. When the contactor fails — typically due to worn or pitted contact points — the compressor will not energize, and the unit will not produce heat. Replacing a failed contactor restores normal compressor operation. Match the part number on your existing contactor before ordering to confirm this is the correct replacement for your unit.
