The tube sheet coil assembly is the primary heat transfer component inside the MasterTemp and Max-E-Therm heater. Pool water circulates through the coil while combustion gases pass over it, transferring heat into the water. A failed or degraded coil assembly — typically indicated by water leaks at the heat exchanger, loss of heating efficiency, or visible corrosion — requires full assembly replacement to restore proper heater operation.

This kit applies only to units produced after January 12, 2009; earlier MasterTemp 300 and Max-E-Therm 333 units require a different tube sheet coil assembly. If you are replacing this assembly due to a pinhole leak or corrosion, inspect the header and manifold connections at the same service visit — corrosion in the coil often indicates stress on adjacent water-side components as well.
