About This Item
The Pentair One Piece Metal Chamber / Combustion Chamber Assembly (474957) is the OEM replacement combustion chamber for the Max-E-Therm and MasterTemp series pool heaters manufactured after November 16, 2013 — identifiable by the new 9-bolt lid tub design.
IMPORTANT: HEATER MANUFACTURING DATE REQUIRED — VERIFY BEFORE ORDERING
This one-piece metal combustion chamber assembly is designed exclusively for heaters manufactured after 11/16/13, featuring the new 9-bolt lid tub design. Heaters built before this date use a different combustion chamber configuration. Confirm your heater's manufacture date on the unit's rating label before ordering.
IMPORTANT: LICENSED PROFESSIONAL INSTALLATION REQUIRED
Gas and electrical heater components must be serviced by a licensed pool professional or qualified HVAC technician. Do not attempt to service gas or high-voltage components without proper certification.
The combustion chamber is the sealed metal enclosure within the heater where the gas burner fires and heat is generated. It contains the combustion gases and directs heat transfer to the pool water through the heat exchanger. A cracked, warped, or corroded combustion chamber compromises heating performance and can allow combustion byproducts to escape into the heater cabinet, making timely replacement critical to both efficiency and safety.

Poolaroo Pro Tip
Before ordering, locate your heater's rating label — typically affixed inside the front access panel or on the side of the cabinet — and confirm the manufacture date is after 11/16/13. You can also count the bolts on the lid tub: this assembly is built for the 9-bolt configuration, and a different bolt count means this is not the correct combustion chamber for your unit. Have a licensed pool professional or qualified HVAC technician perform the replacement and inspect the burner tray and heat exchanger for wear while the combustion chamber is accessible.
