Always lubricate this O-ring with a silicone-based lubricant before installation. We carry the Pentair R172351 Lifeguard® Silicone Lubricant — the OEM-matched product for Pentair equipment.
This clamp O-ring seals the tank clamp assembly on the Meteor 30" Top Mount Sand Filter, maintaining a watertight connection between the upper and lower tank halves. A deteriorated or displaced clamp O-ring will allow water to bypass the seal at the tank joint, resulting in leaks at the clamp band. Match the part number on your existing O-ring before ordering.

Pro Tip
Before installation, apply a thin coat of Pentair R172351 Lifeguard® Silicone Lubricant to the O-ring. This helps seat it evenly in the clamp groove, prevents tearing during assembly, and extends service life. Never use petroleum-based lubricants — they will degrade the rubber and cause premature failure.
