The valve lid screws secure the lid to the diverter valve body, maintaining a sealed, pressure-resistant connection between the lid and the valve housing. Over time, screws can corrode, strip, or lose clamping force — particularly in outdoor installations exposed to pool chemicals and UV. Replacing the full set during any valve lid service restores proper lid retention and prevents leaks at the valve lid interface.

When servicing a diverter valve lid — whether replacing the lid itself, the lid O-ring, or the diverter rotor — replace this screw kit at the same time. Screws that have been exposed to pool chemistry and repeated torque cycles are prone to seizing or stripping on reassembly. Replacing all 8 screws as a set ensures uniform clamping force across the lid and eliminates the risk of a single corroded fastener causing a lid leak after reassembly.
