The Pentair Solar Temperature Sensor (522101) is the OEM replacement sensor, in black, for SunTouch®, SolarTouch®, and EasyTouch® (including PL4/PSL4) automation control systems.
IMPORTANT: ELECTRICAL SAFETY
This sensor wires directly into your automation control system. Electrical control components must be installed or replaced by a qualified electrician or certified pool technician.
This sensor monitors solar collector temperature and reports it to the control system, allowing the automation to accurately manage solar heating valve activation and shutdown. A failed or drifting sensor reading is a common cause of a solar heating system that won't engage, or that engages inconsistently.
