This module services all BioShield UV wattage configurations and includes the complete sleeve assembly (sleeve and gasket per the BioShield exploded diagram).

The quartz sleeve is the protective barrier between the UV lamp and the pool water flowing through the BioShield system. It transmits UV light from the lamp into the water stream while isolating the lamp from direct water contact. A cracked, clouded, or fouled quartz sleeve reduces UV transmittance, compromising the system's ability to neutralise pathogens. Replacing the sleeve module restores full UV output and protects the lamp from premature failure due to water exposure.

Quartz sleeves should be inspected at every UV lamp replacement interval. Even without visible cracking, mineral scale and biofilm accumulation on the sleeve surface reduce UV transmittance significantly — a visually intact sleeve can still be underperforming. When replacing the UV lamp, replace this sleeve module at the same time to ensure the system returns to rated output. Handle the quartz sleeve with clean, dry gloves — skin oils transferred to the quartz surface can etch the glass under UV exposure and reduce service life.
