This center core is sized specifically for 50 sq. ft. filter models. Clean & Clear Filter Systems manufactured 2009 and beyond are confirmed compatible. Verify your filter's square footage rating before ordering — this part does not fit larger or smaller capacity models in the same series.
The center core is the structural spine of the cartridge filter assembly. It supports the filter cartridge from the inside, maintaining the cartridge's cylindrical form under operating pressure and ensuring even water flow distribution through the filter media. A cracked, warped, or missing center core allows the cartridge to collapse inward, reducing filtration efficiency and potentially causing premature cartridge failure.

Pro Tip
Inspect the center core whenever you remove the cartridge for cleaning. Hairline cracks along the ribs are easy to miss when the core is wet — dry it off and flex it slightly to reveal stress fractures before reinstalling. Replacing a compromised core at the same time as a new cartridge avoids having to disassemble the filter again shortly after service.
