The Pentair O-Ring Adapter #2-226 (6020018Z) is the OEM replacement union adapter O-ring for the SuperFlo and SuperMax pump families, including single-speed and variable-speed models.

Two O-rings are required per pump for a complete union adapter service. This listing is for one (1) O-ring — order two to complete the job.

Always lubricate this O-ring with a silicone-based lubricant before installation. We carry the Pentair R172351 Lifeguard® Silicone Lubricant — the OEM-matched product for Pentair equipment.
This O-ring seats at the union adapter connection on the pump's plumbing unions, creating a watertight seal between the pump body and the union fitting. When this O-ring degrades or is disturbed during pump service, it is the most common source of a slow drip at the union joint. Replacing it at every pump service interval — or any time the unions are disconnected — prevents leaks before they start. Note that this O-ring is also included as part of Pentair Union Kit 351157; if you are replacing the full union assembly, the kit may be the more economical choice.

Pro Tip
Before installation, apply a thin coat of Pentair R172351 Lifeguard® Silicone Lubricant to the O-ring. This helps seat it evenly, prevents tearing during assembly, and extends service life. Never use petroleum-based lubricants — they will degrade the O-ring compound and cause premature failure. Since you need two of these O-rings per pump and the unions are already disconnected during service, replace both at the same time regardless of whether only one shows visible wear.
