Always lubricate this O-ring with a silicone-based lubricant before installation. We carry the Pentair R172351 Lifeguard® Silicone Lubricant — the OEM-matched product for Pentair equipment.

Pool lighting components operate in wet environments. Installation must comply with NEC Article 680 and be performed by a licensed electrician.
The conduit seal O-ring forms a watertight seal at the conduit entry point of the MicroBrite light fixture, preventing water from migrating into the conduit and wiring pathway. A degraded or cracked conduit seal O-ring compromises the integrity of the light's waterproofing — replace it whenever the fixture is opened for service or whenever the existing O-ring shows signs of flattening, cracking, or deformation.

Pro Tip
Whenever the MicroBrite fixture is opened for service, replace this conduit seal O-ring as a matter of course — it is an inexpensive part and re-using a compressed O-ring risks a seal failure after reassembly. Before installation, apply a thin, even coat of Pentair R172351 Lifeguard® Silicone Lubricant to the O-ring to help it seat evenly and prevent tearing during assembly. Never use petroleum-based lubricants — they will degrade the rubber and cause premature seal failure.
