This kit is designed exclusively for P4E, P4EA, P4R, and P4RA pump models fitted with a copper insert, built before 1998. Pumps of the same model designation manufactured after 1998 require a different kit. Confirm your pump's manufacture date and model configuration before ordering.

Always lubricate the O-rings in this kit with a silicone-based lubricant before installation. We carry the Pentair R172351 Lifeguard® Silicone Lubricant — the OEM-matched product for Pentair equipment.
The PP4000 kit restores the internal sealing integrity of your pump. The shaft seal prevents water from migrating along the motor shaft into the motor housing. The included gaskets and O-rings re-seal the pump's wet-end assembly, stopping leaks at the housing interfaces. Replacing all sealing components together at service time ensures a complete, reliable repair.

Pro Tip
Before ordering, locate the model number and manufacture date stamped on your pump's nameplate — both are required to confirm this kit applies to your unit. The copper insert is visible inside the pump's seal plate cavity; if your pump has a plastic seat only, this is not the correct kit. Apply a thin coat of Pentair R172351 Lifeguard® Silicone Lubricant to each O-ring before seating — this prevents tearing during assembly and extends seal life. Never use petroleum-based lubricants, which will degrade rubber O-rings.
