About This Item
The Pentair PP4200 is the OEM replacement seal and gasket kit for Pentair P4E, P4EA, P4R, and P4RA series pumps — specifically models without a copper insert, manufactured beginning in 1998.
⚠️ IMPORTANT: THIS IS A KIT — NOT A SINGLE PART
This listing includes a complete kit: shaft seal, gaskets, and O-rings. One kit services one pump.
⚠️ IMPORTANT: LUBRICATION REQUIRED — SOLD SEPARATELY
Always lubricate the O-rings in this kit with a silicone-based lubricant before installation. We carry the Pentair R172351 Lifeguard® Silicone Lubricant — the OEM-matched product for Pentair equipment.
⚠️ IMPORTANT: MODEL VERSION — CONFIRM BEFORE ORDERING
This kit is designed for P4E, P4EA, P4R, and P4RA pumps without a copper insert, built from 1998 onward. If your pump was manufactured before 1998 or includes a copper insert, this kit is not the correct match. Verify against the part number on your existing components before ordering.
The PP4200 kit restores the complete sealing system of your P4-series pump in a single service. The shaft seal prevents water from migrating along the motor shaft into the motor housing — a primary cause of premature motor failure. The included gaskets and O-rings re-seal the pump's wet-end assembly, eliminating leaks at the housing joints and volute interfaces that develop as original seals age and compress.

Pro Tip
Before installation, apply a thin coat of Pentair R172351 Lifeguard® Silicone Lubricant to each O-ring in this kit. This seats the O-rings evenly, prevents tearing during assembly, and extends service life. Never use petroleum-based lubricants — they will degrade rubber O-rings and void the seal. While the pump is open for this service, inspect the impeller and diffuser for wear and replace them if needed to avoid reopening the pump shortly after.
