The saddle clamp secures the feeder body to the return line pipe, maintaining a stable, leak-free connection between the chemical feeder and the circulation system. A failed or cracked clamp allows the feeder to shift or separate from the pipe, disrupting chemical feed and potentially allowing untreated water to bypass the feeder entirely. Replace the clamp at the first sign of cracking, deformation, or loosening.
