The sand/silt bag sits inside the leaf trap canister and captures fine particulate — sand, silt, and debris — that passes through the primary leaf basket. When the bag becomes clogged or torn, suction through the trap drops and fine debris bypasses the unit. Replacing this bag restores full trap performance and keeps fine particles out of your pool.
