The Pentair O-Ring (U9-265) is the OEM replacement O-ring for the Pentair C/CC Series and D Series centrifugal pumps, including 3 HP and 5 HP configurations.

Always lubricate this O-ring with a silicone-based lubricant before installation. We carry the Pentair R172351 Lifeguard® Silicone Lubricant — the OEM-matched product for Pentair equipment.
This O-ring forms a critical seal within the pump assembly. When this seal degrades, water can migrate toward the motor, leading to bearing damage and premature motor failure. Replacing this O-ring at the first sign of leakage — or as part of a scheduled seal service — protects the motor and restores a dry, leak-free pump assembly. Match the part number on your existing O-ring before ordering.

Pro Tip
Before installation, apply a thin coat of Pentair R172351 Lifeguard® Silicone Lubricant to the O-ring. This helps seat it evenly, prevents tearing during assembly, and extends service life. Never use petroleum-based lubricants — they will degrade rubber O-rings. While the pump is open for seal service, inspect the mechanical seal faces at the same time; replacing both together eliminates a second teardown if the seal fails shortly after.
